Pain Free: Neck and Shoulders workshop

Do you spend hours at the computer or prolonged time with your body folded? Do you suffer headaches or migraines? Have a tight jaw (TMJ dysfunction)? Shallow breathing? Anxiety? Or even constipation, incontinence, haemorrhoids?

Everything that occurs in the centre of the body, starts to affect the periphery. The brain learns through repetition. So when you repeatedly hold our body in particular way, this is what the brain senses as the 'new' normal.

This course will teach you the basics on how to reverse habituated holding patterns in the body by 'reminding' the brain how to let go of tight muscles.

With continued practice, you can diminish or eliminate your chronic muscle pain.

Pain Free: Back, Legs & Hips workshop

Are you starting to feel the effects of the demands in life? Always on the go and taking action? Do you struggle to lean forward to tie your shoe laces? Suffer conditions like lower back pain, sciatica, jaw pain, *herniated discs?

Everything that occurs in the centre of the body, starts to affect the periphery. The brain learns through repetition. So when you repeatedly hold our body in particular way, this is what the brain senses as the 'new' normal.

This course will teach you the basics on how to reverse habituated holding patterns in the body by 'reminding' the brain how to let go of tight muscles.

With continued practice, you can diminish or eliminate your chronic muscle pain.

Mental Health First Aid - for Yoga Teachers

Mental Health First Aid is the help provided to a person who is developing a mental health problem, or who is in a mental health crisis. Like physical first aid, Mental Health First Aid is given until the person receives professional help or until the crisis resolves.

In the Mental Health First Aid course, you will learn the signs and symptoms of these mental health problems, where and how to get help, and what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective.

You will take away an evidence based tool to assist adults in these crisis situations:

• Depression
• Panic attacks
• Traumatic events
• Severe psychotic states
• Severe effects of alcohol and drugs
• Aggressive behaviour
• Substance abuse
• Suicidal thoughts and behaviours

When you complete the Mental Health First Aid course, you will be issued with a certificate which can be used towards your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) qualifications. A manual is provided to each participant attending the course, along with useful mental health resources.

Mental health first aid strategies are taught in evidence-based training courses authored by Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Australia and delivered by accredited MHFA Instructors across the country. The 12-hour Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course teaches adults (18 years and over) how to provide initial support to adults who are developing a mental illness or experiencing a mental health crisis.

This course will be delivered by Rae-Anne Holloway, Transpiral Training and Development.
